Backyard Summer Wedding at Bride and Groom’s Home | New York Wedding Photographer

filed in

Daniela and Tommy, along with the rest of the world, never would have imagined 2020 would take such a sharp turn but it did and they were forced to make some hard decisions about their wedding day. In the end, they chose to forgo postponing their wedding and cancelled the big celebration. Instead, they invited their immediate families and closest friends to join them at their new home in Poughquag, NY, to celebrate and stand by them as they devoted their lives to each other. Daniela got ready in their primary bedroom that was spilling with all the natural light a photographer dreams about. Daniela’s sister in law transformed their back patio into an oasis of a reception with white and green florals, twinkle lights and much more. We prayed together that there would be no rain, and even though some dark clouds made us VERY nervous, it was truly the most magical day. The ceremony was thoughtfully put together and presented by a family member which was filled with heartfelt advice, admirations for the bride and groom, love and so much laughter. Daniela’s sister surprised us all with a video montage of many family members and friends as far as Ireland, that wanted to wish them all the best because they were unable to attend. One of those people was Tommy’s brother who was deployed last minute only days before the actual wedding and it brought tears to every single person in the room. If this year taught us anything is that family and friends are with even when they aren’t physically with us. We are always thinking, praying and loving one another during the highs and lows of our lives, whether we are near or far. Thank you Tommy and Daniela for having me capture your special day.
