I have been friends with Chrissy for over ten years. So when I stepped out into the world of photography I knew, as one of my oldest friends and recently engaged, she would be willing to help me build my portfolio. When I asked Chrissy and her fiance James if they had any preferences on where they would like to take the photos, James suggested they start at the place where he asked Chrissy, the woman that he loves, to marry him.
This place was at a tree in his parents backyard in Pawling, NY. But this wasn’t just any tree. James had planted this tree from an acorn that he found before his family moved to Pawling. He asked Chrissy to meet him at his parents’ house one Sunday afternoon this past September and brought her to this tree. He explained the whole story behind the tree and how it symbolized how he sees his future with Chrissy. The love and care it took to grow this tree was how he viewed his life with Chrissy and he wanted to start that same tradition with their future children. From there, James got down on one knee and the rest is history!
I spent a beautiful day with these two, going from James’ parents house to a farm down the road. Their love for one another is contagious and I can’t wait to stand by their sides as they get married next September!
